Products: Date based discounts

Discounts over periods of time can be achieved in 2 ways:

Product based discounts

• Separate products are created for each date period
• The price is set on the product
• Each product is transacted separately
• Products need to be added to pages manually to be available during the date periods

Date based discounts

• A single product will have its price modified over time
• The price can be set or % discount applied during the date 'windows'
• Prices change automatically over time
• Discounts can be applied across one or more date ranges.
• Discounts can be applied to all products of a type or to products individually within a type
