Why are dates important?

Dates are fundamental to controlling various phases of an event including judging, nomination open and close dates, table booking sales, event attendance sales and exhibition stand sales. In addition discounts can also be applied according to date e.g. early birds discount using the date based discount feature. The primary dates are configured via EVENT > Settings:

NOTE

  • All dates must finish on or before the event date otherwise errors will be raised
  • Products are activated or retired via dates
    • In the  basket dropdown product selector, items will be visible or hidden
    • Product 'buttons' on pages will be disabled or activated:

All products track the product type dates seen in EVENT> Settings unless otherwise specified. However each product can track custom dates. The custom dates much fall between the dates you have set for the Product in Event Settings.

To set a custom close date:

  • Go to REVENUE> Products and click on the relevant product type e.g. Event Attendance.

  • Click on the product you would like to set a custom date for e.g. Single ticket.

  • Scroll down to the "Availability" section. In the "Open Date" and/or "Close Date" drop downs select "Custom" and input the relevant date. Remember to click "Save".

If more than one category is changing to the same custom date you can change it in bulk. Go to REVENUE> Products> Product type and scroll down to the products. Click the tick box beside the relevant products and click "Update selected", followed by "Dates".

From the “Close date” dropdown menu select "Custom", input the date on which these categories should close and click “Save”.
