v2.0.11.3 - SCA Patch release - 2 September 2019
Patch update for Stripe
- Evessio will support a new Stripe API interface to stripe to accommodate the new SCA protocols coning into effect on Sep 14 2019
- No action for Evessio Stripe users is required
What will change?
- The user experience will change slightly for customers at checkout - the design of the credit card pop-up is subtly different but the overall process is very similar.
- Users may be asked to verify their identity with a push notification, a text message or another message chosen by their bank.
- The SCA authentication process, if required, will be handled via an additional pop-up.
- If there is a failure of any kind - SCA, insufficient funds, invalid card number, etc. the user will be taken back to the card number entry with an error message displayed. They can use a different card if they have one or re-attempt the process.
The Evessio configuration will also change slightly:
The 3 options will be removed from the Stripe config in Events HQ.
- Offer 'Remember me' at checkout - no longer supported.
- Require billing address in Stripe checkout - option not required as Evessio will now always pre-populate a Stripe billing details form using the Invoice Information data. The customer can edit this if required.
- Checkout with customer’s validated email address - Evessio will pass the logged-in user email address to the billing details form but the customer can change this if required.
