Content - Headers

Headers provide impact and are a great way to make the event website stand out. Headers are generally embedded in templates so they will appear on all pages.. You can, however, create and place headers anywhere.

The Header come with 2 key styles:

    • Banner Image - display and image full-width and scale the height proportionately
    • Background with fixed height - set a height in % or pixels and apply various options to the canvas: Video, Images, Gradients or custom animations can all be applied

To add a header:

  1. Select the page (WEBSITE> Pages> Pages) or template (WEBSITE> Pages> Templates) you wish to add a header to and click “+Add content” in the column you want the header to appear.

  2. Click on +Add content> Menu> Menus> +Add Menu.

  3. Give the header a title and select if you would like it to be visible. Optionally add a date, location and description. This will appear overlaid the header background you select. Optionally select the text colour.

  4. Optionally add a logo. This will be overlaid the background you have selected. You can optionally link the logo to direct visitors to a specific page e.g. the home page.

  5. Select how you would like the content to be aligned. Content refers to all the options we have discussed so far i.e. title, date, location, description and logo. This will dictate where on the background image/video the content should be placed.

  6. Select which header style you would like to use as described above. If you select "Banner Image" upload the image you would like to use. Optionally upload a small screen image too. The system will automatically switch to the small screen image when a browser goes below 500 pixels.

If you select "Background with fixed height" input the height you require and select the background style you require. Then upload the image, add the video code, select the colour or select the gradient.

  7. Optionally link the header area. Often the header is linked to the home page.

  8. Optionally add existing buttons to the header or add a brand new one (please note to add a new button you may need to first save the header and then re-enter it). Then click "Save".

  9. Make sure the header is selected in the list and click “Add selected”. Remember to Save and Publish the page.

Tip

If you would like the header to contain a Youtube/Vimeo video do not include the full URL. If you aren't sure of the code click "Share" on the relevant video which will display a share URL containing the code.
