Transactions: Modifications and paperwork
A variety of actions can be performed on transactions.
- Some actions will trigger the creation of 'paperwork' according to accounting best practices
- The transaction status may be modified to reflect the most recent change
- The actions which cause paperwork to be generated are recorded and are available for export via the custom reporting feature
- When new 'paperwork' is triggered the Transaction ID will have a letter appended and incremented with each change e.g.
- EVNT201900120
- EVNT201900120A
- EVNT201900120B
- This preserves the base transaction ID while indicating the change and how many changes have been made
- When new 'paperwork' is triggered the Transaction ID will have a letter appended and incremented with each change e.g.
- There are 2 approaches to handling issue of credit notes for transaction modifications and Evessio supports both
- The option can be set via Company Settings > Event Defaults
- When a transaction's total is reduced via discount, price change or removing items
- Partial Credit Notes - a credit note is generated only for the amount of the difference and no new invoice is generated.
- Full Credit notes - a credit note is generated for the full amount and a new invoice is generated for the new amount.
