General Content
General content is most commonly used to add free form paragraphs to your website.
You can use various tools to format the text including bold, italics, underlining, header styles and paragraph alignment. You can also add links and download links.
It is also possible to add images using the general content, however often there are other content types better suited to displaying images, such as responsive images, panels and image sliders.
Creating your General Content
To begin creating your general content, go to Website > Pages, and select the page or template you want your general content to appear on.
Select the location you wish your general content to appear, and click on +Add Content.
In the window, go to Content > Common > Basics > General Content > +Add General Content.
Tip 💡
Alternatively, create your content by going to Website > Content > Common > Basics > General Content, and click +Add. Once created, you can later add your general content to your website.
In the new window, add a title to save this content type as. Then, choose if you wish to show this title on your website, and if so, if the title will be aligned left, right, or centred.
Next, add your your desired content into the content field.
Note 🗒️
The content box is a mandatory field.
There are many tools available for you to use in the content box, from formatting the size, colour and style of your text, to adding images and links.
Tip 💡
If you have changed your content text to white, you can easily view this text by clicking the contrast button on the toolbar, which changes your content background to grey temporarily, enabling you to easily see and edit any white text.
When you are done, click Save.
Adding your General Content to your website
To add your General Content to your website, go to the page or template you wish for it to appear on.
Choose where you want the menu to appear, and click +Add Content.
In the content window, select Content > Common > Basics > General Content, tick the box beside your chosen item, then click +Add Selected.
Remember to click Save at the end of your page/template.
