Two-factor Authentication (2FA)

What is 2FA?

In addition to your regular password process there is a code sent via email or text which you need to enter. The code is the 'second factor' in 2FA (Two factor authentication). This significantly improves the security of the login process.

How it will work in Evessio

Initially we will be using email to send the code during login. This will be followed shortly by SMS Text and later authenticator apps.

It will look like this:

  1. Login as normal.
  2. You will be directed to the Two-factor screen and your email will be automatically sent.
  3. Receive your 6 digit code via email.
  4. Copy + paste the code into the authentication step.

Get ready for this - test your email receiving!

To ensure that you can successfully receive emails from the admin system please trigger the "Forgot password" email.

You do not actually have to change your password, this is just to ensure you receive the email.

Got the email? Great, you're all set

Help! I did not get the email!

If you do not receive the password reset email

  • Check your spam / junk mail folders.
  • The email can take up to 60 sec to arrive.
  • If you still did not receive it you might need to involve your IT department to whitelist or 'unblock' messages from Evessio if this is preventing your receipt of emails.

If you receive the password reset email but later, after the release, do not receive your 2FA email

  • First, try the resend option.
  • Contact one of your SuperUsers or Evessio support and they will be able to share your code with you.
  • This is a temporary solution to enable support before the other factors are rolled out.

Why?

This may seem like a frustrating delay to your login flow but it is a small price to pay to ensure our system and your data are better protected.

NOTE: this will only apply to the admin system at https://admin.evessio.com this does not apply to any event websites
