Two-factor Authentication (2FA)
What is 2FA?
When logging into Evessio, in addition to your regular password process, there is a code sent via email or text which you need to enter. The code is the 'second factor' in 2FA (Two factor authentication). This significantly improves the security of the login process.
This may seem like a frustrating delay to your login flow but it is a small price to pay to ensure our system and your data are better protected.
Note 🗒️
This will only apply to the admin system at https://admin.evessio.com and does not apply to any event websites.
Using Email as your 2FA Method
Email Two Factor Authentication is the default setup for your account security.
It will look like this:
- Log in as normal on https://admin.evessio.com.
- After you enter your password, you will be directed to the Two-Factor authentication screen, and your email will be automatically sent to your Evessio account email. - Tip 💡 - Your code can take up to 60 seconds to arrive!
- Receive your 6 digit code via email.
- Enter the code into the authentication screen.

Using SMS as your 2FA Method
If you prefer to receive your authentication code via SMS, you can activate this on your Evessio account.
First, hover over your name in the top right corner of your Evessio admin portal, and select My Account.
In the Security Settings, add your phone number.
Note 🗒️
Once you add your phone number, you will be sent a code to verify this number on your account.

Once your phone number has been added, you can then amend your 2FA Method from email to SMS.

Upon login, you will be sent your code via SMS. Enter the code into the authentication screen, and your login is complete.

Troubleshooting
If you do not receive the 2FA code via email
- You may need to wait a little longer- the email can take up to 60 seconds to arrive.
- Check your spam/junk mail folder.
- To ensure that you can successfully receive emails from the admin system, please trigger the "Forgot password" email.
  - You do not actually have to change your password, this is just to ensure you receive the email.

- If you have received your reset password email, and did not receive the authorisation code, try the resend option.
- Contact one of your Superusers or Evessio Support and they will be able to share your code with you.
  - This is a temporary solution to enable support before the other factors are rolled out.

- If you still did not receive it, you might need to involve your IT department to whitelist or 'unblock' messages from Evessio if this is preventing your receipt of emails.
