Pages - visibility

Pages have 2 key settings which control whether or not they are visible to visitors:

  • Status
  • A page cannot be viewed at all until it has a status of 'Published' regardless of it's visibility setting
    • Published - visible publicly
    • Pending review - not viewable on website
    • Draft - not viewable on website
    • Trash - not viewable on website
  • Visibility
  • A published page can have additional controls added over which users can see the page.
  • An example of a use-case might be creating a page with content which should only be visible to Logged in users who were Attendees at the event. Possibly session presentations or other post-event content.
  • The visibility controls who can see a published page across 3 primary restrictions:
    • Public - any visitor can see the page, it is un-restricted
    • Private - any logged-in users can see the page but there are no role restrictions. Users must have an active account to be able to log in.
    • Private by Role - here users can be further isolated by the role(s) which they have according to assignments or interaction with the event.
      • Collaborator Roles
      • Organisation users
      • Product based Roles
      • Transaction Owners
    • Password Protected - create a password and share it with users who need access to the page

Layouts define the rows and columns in pages and have their own visibility controls

  • One layout might be visible only to logged-in users or users with specific roles
