Forms: Form parts

Key Concepts

  • Form Parts are fragments which can be combined and re-used
  • Form Parts are created and managed via Events HQ
  • The same part can be used in different parts in different events
  • Updating a form part will update all forms which use that part
  • From Parts can use any available form fields
  • Form Parts can only be used by System Forms (e.g. Product forms, Personal Details or Invoice Details forms)
  • Form parts are used in data re-use where users can fill out the form with data previously submitted

Add form parts to forms in your event

  • Select form parts to add them to forms in events
  • Forms with parts in them will be cloned with the event if forms are selected for cloning

Manage Form Parts in Events HQ

  • Create new parts
    • Add fields to form parts to compose their structure
    • Set labels, descriptions and default values
  • Edit existing parts
    • **Note: editing a form part used by existing forms in events will update all locations where it is used

Combining Form Parts

  • Existing form parts can be selected and combined into a new form part
  • **Note: the originating parts are just used as source fields and the original part definitions are not preserved in the newly created combined part
    • i.e. If you change one of the originating parts it will not affect the new, combined part

Setting field properties using form parts

  • Most form fields have optional properties
  • These properties are set in the event not the form part so that events can add local variations to how the data is captured
