Judging on Evessio

Judges need to be invited to collaborate on events and judge nominations.

Once a judge has accepted their role, they can begin to review their assignments and provide scoring and feedback.

Accepting the invitation to judge

When the judging invite has been sent, judges will receive an email containing an activation link. Upon clicking the link, judges will need to log in.

  • If the judge already has an Evessio account, they can use their existing password.
  • If the judge has forgotten their password they can use the Forgotten password link.
  • If the judge does not yet have an Evessio account, they will be asked to create a password and accept the event's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

The judge will then be asked to accept the role of Judge:

Once the role has been accepted, judges will now see the Judging section of the logged in area, and begin to work on their assignments.

Judging assigned categories

To begin judging, navigate to Awards > Judging on the left side of the screen, and click on the judging round to begin.

  • A green circle beside the name of the judging round indicates that the round is open for judging.
  • A grey circle beside the name of the judging round indicates that the round is closed.

A countdown is displayed indicating the remaining days that judging is open.

Below, the category or categories assigned to the judge are displayed, how many submissions are in each category, and the percentage of the work completed.

Then, the list of submissions are displayed in a table, showing the nomination name, the status of whether it has been judged, and the score given.

Tip 💡

Pay close attention to the number of nominations in each category. Nominations will default to 10 per page, so be sure to move through the pages, or amend the number of entries displayed if needed.

To view and score an entry, simply click on the submission name.

A pop up will appear with the entry details shown on the left, and any scoring criteria that needs to be answered shown on the right. Feedback can be written or dictated.

When scoring and feedback has been completed, click Save.

Entries can be revisited and scores can be amended at any point throughout the opening period of the judging round.

Once the judging round is closed they can still view the entries but can not longer make amendments.

Dictating Feedback

When providing feedback, judges can write or use dictation to record their comments.

To use the dictation, please ensure that the device being used is equipped with a microphone.

To start, choose the language that the feedback will be spoken in. Then, click on Start Dictation.

Note 🗒️

The output language is determined by the event organisers. To learn more regarding admin configuration of this tool, click here.

Dictation can be recorded in chunks of 20 seconds. Multiple recordings can be made to complete the desired amount of feedback.

When all feedback has been recorded, click Save.

Tip 💡

When using dictation for the first time, be sure to give your browser access to use your microphone.

Troubleshooting

The Judge has logged in but can’t see anywhere to judge

The judging role is assigned to a specific email address. If a judge has multiple emails and logs in using the wrong one, the judging portal will not be present. Check which email address the judging role is assigned to, and advise them to log in using the correct email address.

Access Denied message

If the judge is trying to use the activation link in their original email. This is a one time link and can’t be used again after they have accepted their role as judge. Advise the judge to log in using the login page for the event.

Judge language not available in dictation

If a judge requests a language that is not listed in the dictation, this can be amended in the judge dictation configuration. Click here for more information.
