Levels of detail
The number of rows representing the transaction depend on which columns have been added and how much detail the column represents.
e.g. If you only have the [TX] Total - this is the total for the transaction and can be expressed in 1 row for each transaction. If you add the [PD] Product Type column and a transaction has multiple product types in it - you will get 1 row for each product type.
Detail comes from the [PD] Product columns.
In order of increasing detail:
[TX] Transaction ID Root - this will 'collapse' any modifications made to the transaction which generate transaction IDs with suffixes like TX001A, TX001B, TX001C and only 1 row will be generated with TX001 (without the suffix)
[C] Common information, [P] Personal Information, [I] Invoice Information - these are all basic information types and generate 1 row per transaction
[TX] Transaction ID - this will generate a row for each (significant) modification the transaction goes through
[CST] Custom - the scope of the custom field determines the level of detail. For Product item scopes there will be 1 row per product item whereas for Global fields there will be 1 row per transaction. See the article on Custom fields for more info
[PD] Products - the most detail can be generated by including product item instance info which is the 'Item Code' - this is unique for every item selected by a customer. Product Item and Product Type generate detail according to which products are included in the transaction.
