Cookie warning
Cookies are small pieces of text sent to your browser by a website you visit. They help that website remember information about your visit, which can both make it easier to visit the site again and make the site more useful to you.
Evessio provides an optional cookie warning banner for your website, which acts as an acknowledgement of the usage of cookies on the site, which will link to your privacy policy.
If you require more robust cookie settings, you can add an external cookie consent popup.

Activating the cookie warning on your event website
To activate the cookie warning on your event, navigate to Event > Settings and click Edit.
Then, locate the option on the right side of the screen labelled Show cookie warning.

To activate, select Yes in the dropdown menu. To deactivate, select no.
In addition, you can customise the warning message that is displayed on the banner.

Tip 💡
You can add a long warning message, however, be sure to preview how your warning message looks, as longer messages will occupy more of your page.
Your activated cookie warning will now display on your website as a banner along the top of the page, and link to the events privacy policy.

Adding an external cookie consent pop-up
If you require more robust cookie settings that allow your user to define their preferences or decline the use of cookies, you can add an external cookie consent popup.
To begin, you will need to source a consent management platform that will allow you to enable a cookie consent pop up on your site, such as CookieScript.
Once you have secured a consent management platform and configured your popup, you can add this to your website via an embedded widget.
Tip 💡
To ensure the consent popup appears on all pages place this widget on your template(s), usually in the header.
To add an embedded widget, go to Website > Pages > Templates, and choose the template(s) your popup will be placed on.
Click on +Add Content, go to Widgets and select +Add Embedded Widget.
Then, give your embedded widget a name, and add the code from your consent management platform.

When you are done, click Save.
