Voting
Public voting is a way for people to vote for nominations within your awards. Voting can be used in order to select finalists and/or winners from your nominees, to act as an alternative way of gathering scores alongside judging.
Nominations should be closed before voting is opened.

Configuring your nominations for voting
To configure voting, navigate to Awards > Judging, and select the judging round that the nominations will be used from.

In the Nominations tab, expand a category and click Edit Result.
Then, select the submissions you wish to partake in the public vote in each category by ticking the box in the Voting column.
Tip 💡
If you are including all nominations in a category, you can use the parent selector to tick all boxes at once.
Setting up your public vote
Once nominations have been flagged for voting, navigate to the Shortlist tab.
Configuring voting
First, configure the details of how your voting will work within the voting section.
Click on the Edit button, and then to configure voting, tick the Active checkbox.
Then, choose how your voting list will work.
- Accessible to
- All users - anyone who visits your website can vote
- Registered users - users must first create an account in order to be able to vote
- Voting Rule
- 1 vote per nomination - Voters may vote for multiple nominations in each category
- 1 vote per category - Voters may only cast 1 vote in each category
- 1 vote per event - Voters may only vote for a single nomination across all categories
- Form - (optional) a customisable form can be selected to collect information from voters. Here, you can choose not to use a form, or to use an existing voting form
- Dates - determine the open and close dates of your voting
Configuring the voting list
Once you have configured your voting, select +New Shortlist.
In the shortlist type, select Voting.
The style and content of the voting list can be controlled like other shortlist types.

Be sure to include a word or phrase in the Vote button text section, so that people visiting your site can clearly find where to click to vote.
Finally, you can choose to Enable single nomination view by slug.
A slug is the last part of a URL that explains the page’s content.
If you decide to enable this, it means that each of your nominations included in the vote will have their submission also displayed on a unique webpage with its own URL. They can share this link with people to encourage votes for their submission.
If you do not want this functionality, please ensure you leave this option unchecked.
Customising the voting form
During the setup of your voting, you can choose to use a voting form. Enabling this form means anyone who casts a vote for a nomination will be presented with a voting form to complete.
To customise this form, go to Website > Forms, and select the Voting tab. Click on the form to edit the questions that are asked when this form appears.
You can find the responses by clicking on the number of submissions.
You can review the responses and/or download them using the Export to Excel button.
Activating your voting on your website
When you are ready to add your voting list to your site, go to Website > Pages.
Choose the page you want to add your voting list to, or create a new page.
Your voting shortlist is added to a page just like any other content item.
Click on +Add content in the section of the page you want the list to be placed on.
To find your voting list in the content menu, follow the path:
Content > Common > Awards > [Judging Round Name] > Shortlist, and select the voting list you have created by ticking the checkbox beside its name.
Reviewing voting results
Once the voting period has closed you can view the results within the judging round in the Nominations tab.
You can also download the information into an excel spreadsheet by clicking Excel export.
