Testing and Go-live checklist

Before your event goes live it is imperative you thoroughly test all aspects or you event. Please allow ample time for testing well in advance of your launch date to allow Evessio to support you with any changes that might need to be made.

When carrying out test transactions you should ensure that you are in “Test Mode”. Carrying out test transactions in “Test Mode” means they can be deleted and will be easily recognizable.

How to use Test Mode

On any page you will see a grey button near the top right hand corner saying “Test mode”. Click here.

Once in Test mode you will see a strap along the top of the screen.

Checklist

Settings

  • Ensure the event shortname is correct.
  • Check all dates are correct.
  • Check the event is in the correct country and time zone.
  • (Optionally) Add Google Analytics code. 
  • Ensure an event contact has been added.
Ensure you have added a GDPR contact to your account- in the event of data breach this person will be contacted immediately. ( How to add a GDPR contact )

Website

  • Ensure your DNS records are set up correctly, pointed to Evessio.
  • Ensure content has been added to the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions page.
  • Proof read ALL content on every page.
  • Check formatting of content on every page e.g. Spacing, colours.
  • Click all menu links to ensure they are linked to the correct pages.
  • Click all link buttons to ensure they are linked to the correct page.
  • Click on any other links or linked areas to ensure they are linked to the correct content.
  • Check any collaborator/sponsor/exhibitor profiles to ensure the correct information is being displayed.
  • Check how your site appears on different sized screens e.g. phones or tablets.
  • Fill in and submit any webforms e.g. contact us forms, newsletter signups.

Payment Settings

  • Ensure the correct payment options are enabled e.g. invoice, WorldPay, Stripe, PayPal.
  • Ensure the transaction prefix is correct.
  • Ensure the correct VAT settings have been selected.
  • Ensure the event is using the correct currency. 

Awards

  • Submit a test entry for every category – Ensure that the correct fields have been added for each question e.g. is there a text box when there should be an upload field.
  • Make sure any mandatory fields have been marked as mandatory.  
  • Go through the checkout process and ensure all the required information is being collected at each stage.
  • Check the emails that you have received.
  • Check the email attachments you have received.
  • Log in to make an amendment to your nomination.

Products- Table Booking products, Event attendance products, Exhibition stands, Custom Products

  • Submit test transactions for individual products and for a selection of products.
  • Ensure the information that is being collected on the product form is correct and uses the appropriate form fields
  • Make sure any mandatory fields have been marked as mandatory. 
  • Check the emails you have received.
  • Check the email attachments you have received.
  • Log in and make amendments/ updates to your bookings.

Transactions

  • If you have created volume discounts, test them. Carry out a transaction for various different numbers of products to ensure the rules you have created are appropriate and cover all scenarios.
  • If you have created vouchers/discount codes test them. 
  • Check any date based discounts are being applied.

Back Office

  • Once you have submitted some test transactions check the system reports (EVENT>Data) to make sure the information you require is being captured.
  • Check all necessary exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and collaborators have been added/invited/accepted their role. 
  • Ensure you have configured your chosen domain. 

How to delete test entries/transactions

1. Under the REVENUE menu tab, click on “Transactions”. Then click on “List”.

2. Click on the “Tests” tab. All test transaction IDs will start with TEST_ 

3. Click the orange delete button. After a few seconds a confirmation box will follow asking you to confirm you wish to delete the transaction. Click “Delete”.
